REMEMBRANCE
PADDLE OUT AND SHORE SALUT
On Sunday our club community gathered for a Remembrance Paddle Out and Shore Salute to hold space and remember loved ones and club members who are no longer here, but always with us.
It was a special morning with club members and community alike, and we thank you all for this important moment to stand together, support each other and keep our club community strong.
We are proud to offer trained Peer Support and Member Protection Officers, not to mention a club full of supportive and caring fellow clubbies.

Celebrating 30 Years of life saving and community in Mandurah!
This season marks an incredible milestone for Mandurah Surf Life Saving Club — our 30th anniversary!
Established in 1996, our club has grown from humble beginnings into a vibrant community built on teamwork, safety, and a shared love for the ocean.
The club's 30th Anniversary event was a wonderful, clubbie afternoon celebrating three decades of service, surf sports, and community connection, honouring our past, celebrating our present, and diving into the next chapter together!

As our club continues to grow, we’re looking for enthusiastic members to join our team in key volunteer roles. Each position comes with plenty of support — so whether you can take on the full role or just a part of it, we’d love to hear from you!

NRC Courses done for the season!
Great way to finish of our NRC Courses for the season with six parent helpers stepping up and taking their skills to the next level.
Our NRC, SRC, Bronze and IRB Requals and Courses all started in September and we appreciate those who took the time to upskill or requal!

An opportunity is available to members who are interested in becoming club Educators.

There are pathways in all areas of Surf Life Saving both in and out of the water and we encourage you to step into this rewarding experience.

LIFE SAVING
PATROLS
Rostered and Voluntary Patrols are open for the 25-26 season. You can find Patrol information in the SLS Hub after you have registered for the season.
NEW GRADUATES
We have allocated all new SRC and BM Members to a Patrol Team, you can find your Patrols via the SLSHub and chats in the Stack Team App. Please come to any patrol and sign in with the Patrol Caption.
ROSTERED PATROLS
Patrolling members have been at the Rostered Patrols in force however we are seeing a numbers of no shows. If you are not able to make you Rostered patrol it is important to let the Team know and arrange a substitute to help us prepare and to share the load across the crew.

YOUTH BEACH SAFETY INCURSION PROGRAM

We are very proud to announce that the Mandurah SLSC Trident Youth Group have launched their Beach Safety Program, The RICK Project, with great success!
This informative incursion aims to deliver important beach and surf safety messages to schools across the Peel Region and hopefully soon across WA!

SURF SPORTS

COACHES AND OFFICIALS NEEDED
HOW TO FIND YOUR SLSWA COURSES
The following courses are accessible via your SLS Hub - Applications - elearning - Training Libraryas well as opportunities to expand in an area of interest. This off season is the perfect time to brush up some skills and help your club and members hone their skills safely!
These roles are all coming up for Nomination next season and Officials will be a pre requisite to the 2026-27 Peel Regional Carnival which will be hosted by our club next year.
OFFICIALS
Officials play an essential role in ensuring surf sports competitions are conducted in a safe, fair and well-managed environment while upholding the rules and regulations of the sport. It is vital that our club has trained officials representing us at carnivals and competitions so our surf sports program can continue to thrive. If you’re interested in supporting our athletes and getting more involved, we encourage members to enrol in officiating.

FOUNDATION COACH
This course is designed for club members, parents or carers to engage and deliver quality environments for participants who are eager to learn or play social sport. This will be particularly helpful during our beach and pool Surf Sports Training sessions to teach Nippers surf sports etiquette and methods as well as encourage participation in local Carnivals and Comps.
DEVELOPMENT COACH
This course is designed for club members, parents or carers, to guide the delivery of professional development for people wanting to become a surf sports coach in their club or branch. This will be an excellent extension of our current Surf Sports Training Sessions for athletes who are advancing in the Surf Sports journeys.
SWIM COACH
Got swim skills? We are looking for enthusiastic members to take our Surf Sports crew through their paces at Swim Training weekly in the 26-27 Season. If you are interested and would like to know more, please see Sunni at the club.
YOUTH PATHWAYS - OFFICALS
Like in many other sports, officials play a vital role in our movement. SLSWA youth members have the opportunity to officiate at SLSWA and Club events.
Hours accrued in this role can go towards the SLSWA Youth Leaders Program.
YOUTH PATHWAYS - COACH
Youth coaches can work in a range of coaching roles at Clubs. Youth Coaches are mentored/supervised at Club training sessions by competent, accredited/club endorsed, Foundation level (or above) coaches.
Hours accrued in this role can go towards the SLSWA Youth Leaders Program.

Congratulations to all our surf sports competitors who finished the season at the WA State Championships Beach & Ocean. We had a dedicated group of competitors from our small but mighty club. Proud of you all.

Our team of 3 represented MHSLSC in tough conditions with SW winds up to 37km gusts.
All competitors were lifesavers from our supportive SLS community. We had fun with the WA clubs whilst becoming stronger lifesavers.

CLUB MISSION
This event will be held at the Mandurah Surf Life Saving Club and open to all MHSLSC members from U13, U14 to 18yrs and Masters 30yrs.
The concept of the Club Mission was born from the core requirements of the Surf Life Saving Australia Gold Medallion, Swim 400m, Run 800m, Board 400m, Run 800m, and for our course an optional Ski leg 800m.
We are encouraging all members U13+ to come on down for a fun morning and have a go!
TAKE THE MISSON ON SOLO OR GET YOUR TEAM TOGETHER HAVE SOME FUN & CHALLENGE YOURSELF!
This is about challenging your PB's, giving it a go and having some fun!
Here's everything you need to know:
- Setup is accepting volunteers from 6.15am
- Registrations open 7.00am
- Briefing will commence at 7.15am
- Event Starts at 7.30am
- Should be finished by 8.00am for those on Patrol
AGE CATEGORIES
U14 to Masters:
- U14 - 16yrs, 17 - 29, Masters 30+
- Solo / Duo / Mixed Teams of 3 or 4

SURF BOAT EOI
Were excited to let you know that we have been gifted a surf boat from CITY OF PERTH SLSC.
Glen Boddy is prepping the boat for its Mandurah SLSC colours and we are sourcing oars and rollicks.
We are looking for expressions of interest from any Bronze Medallion holding club members who would like to have a go at surf boat rowing in the very near future.

Starfish Nippers is a lifesaving skills program designed for children and young adults with a disability 6 years and older.
This important program relies on Volunteers. We endeavor to accept as many members as we can, however, to keep all Nippers safe in and out of the water, spaces for the program are limited.
VOLUNTEER CALL OUT
Our Starfish Coordinator is on the lookout for assistance in and out of the water during sessions. If you would like to help in any way please sign up for one of our Training Courses and get in touch!
Any NRC or Higher qualified members are also encouraged to sign up to assist.

MEMBER eLEARNING COURSES
SLSA is proud to work with L'Oréal Paris to help make beaches a safer place for everyone. Through the L’Oréal Paris Stand Up Against Street Harassment program, members of the Surf Life Saving community can now access training that teaches simple bystander techniques to help you safely intervene when you witness or experience street harassment. The training is available via your state e-learning platform (excluding Victoria) and will also be activated at The Aussies in North Kirra from 26-29 March. Become an Upstander and join the movement today!
SOCIAL CLUB FITNESS

Every week, members of mixed age groups and all skill levels come together for enjoyable and fulfilling exercise in a safe and welcoming environment.

This long standing club tradition is a chance for members to come together and enjoy a casual swim each weekend, mingle and have FUN!
We also meet at the MARC during the week!

Social Club Run is 6am Mondays and Wednesdays for approx. 30min, meet at the club and run or walk along the shore with friends, family or clubbies! (Mon - Path, Wed - Sand)

A MESSAGE FROM THE COMMITTEE
Three-Year Planning Underway - As part of our lease requirements with the City of Mandurah, the Club is preparing a three-year financial plan and strategic plan. This work is now underway and will ensure the Club is well positioned for future growth and sustainability.
Strategic Plan – Member Involvement Progress continues on the Club’s Strategic Plan. If you’d like to assist, please contact Vice President [vicepresident@mandurahslsc.asn.au] and come along to a monthly working group meeting.
Strategic Planning Workshop Confirmed: The Club’s Strategic Planning workshop will be held on 1 April 2026. Please get in touch if you’d like to be part of the workshop event.
Town Beach Annexe – Progress continues on the Town Beach annexe, with the Committee reviewing City of Mandurah plans and costings. While the project is moving in the right direction, the Executive Committee will request a 1.5m northward extension to better accommodate surf ski and board storage.
Club Busy Bee - Working Bee Planned for May for Shed Safety Improvements. Safety improvements in the Shed will progress following the end of the patrol season (last patrol 26 April 2026). Members will be invited to join a working group to assist with preparation and application of non-slip paint, with early May dates under consideration.
Health and Safety: Members are reminded that ATVs should be limited to 10km/h near people and up to 20km/h when areas are clear. This guidance will be reinforced at upcoming patrol briefings.
